This property was purchased by my clients who live in Arkansas City Kansas. The address is 15050 Hwy 62. It is right where Sams Valley Highway and 62 meet just outside Eagle Point. They are going to be moving out here to do a miniature donkey ranch. The house that is burning is one of two homes on the property. We decided that Fire Department #5 would benefit more from a Burn to Learn than if the house was just torn down.
There were quite a few steps that we had to go through to get the approval to do this. There was asbestos testing and then abatement in the areas that had asbestos. They had to disconnect all the power from the house and abandon the old septic system not to mention all the permits. It was really great to see that my clients wanted to benefit the community this way even though they aren’t going to live here for a couple more years!
